Biyiasas Peter (19.11.1950)
U.S. Grandmaster (1978) born in Greece who played chess in Canada winning two national titles in 1972 and 1975 then moved to the USA. He was the owner of a firm that develops software for the investment industry. In the 1978 Olympiad, he was awarded a silver medal for the second best individual performance at board 2 and a bronze medal for the third best performance at board 4 in 1972. Best results: Won the US Junior Open 1971, Norristown 1973, Calgary 1975, World Open Philadelphia 1978, Seattle 1980, Los Angeles Bagby Memorial 1985. A participant in the 1972, 1974, 1976 and 1978 Olympiads with the Canadian team. A participant in the 1973 and 1976 Interzonals. Peak rating: 2485 in 1977. Retired from international chess in the late 1980’s.
